GO – Engenharias, Lda., owns a fully equipped laboratory, allowing the testing required by law.
Our field of action comprises the Working Environment (Hygiene and Safety at Work), through the testing of Labor Noise, Thermal Environment, Lighting and of Chemical Contaminants, as well as the evaluation of the Environmental Noise to ascertain the “Annoyance” Criterion and the Long Term Average Sound Level.
– Labor Noise (Assessment of Noise Exposure at Work)
According to Article 4 of Decree Law No. 182/2006, in the activities that are liable to present risks of exposure to noise, the employer is asked to evaluate and, if necessary, measure the levels of noise to which workers are exposed.
The test aims to ascertain not only the worker’s personal daily exposure to noise but also the maximum sound pressure peak level to which the worker is submitted as well as the selection of the most appropriate ear protection.
– Environmental Noise
Measurement of Sound Pressure Levels – Annoyance Criterion
Estimation of the long term average Sound level.
These tests aim to assess noise aggravation and the rating of the areas as mixed or sensitive. They are required for licensing processes, licenses for initial use or for the operation of permanent and temporary noisy activities, construction works and environmental impact studies, among others.
– Estimation of the Thermal Stress level
The measurement of the heat stress level – WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature), aims to assess the temperature of a job, taking into account the metabolic rate that corresponds to the activity and to the duration of the exposure, thus allowing the adoption of measures in the work place to obtain acceptable conditions as far as health and comfort of the human organism is concerned.
– Estimation of Illuminance levels
This test aims to compare the illuminance levels achieved during the assessment and the ones recommended by the norm for the type of task or activities performed in the workplace, so that measures can be taken in order to facilitate the visualization of objects, which in turn may result in the work being done on acceptable terms of efficiency, convenience and safety.
– Assessment of Exposure to Chemical Contaminants in the Workplace
This test aims to determine the concentration of chemical contaminants in the atmosphere of the workplace and to compare the values obtained to the exposure limit value (ELV) of the Portuguese Norm, NP 1796: 2014 – Limit values of occupational exposure to chemical agents, allowing the determination of jobs’ risk level.
